Mobilize locally, support globally

Sep 25 2025

There’s a question we ask often in our AIRO Community: What does it look like to use our time, talents, and treasures for the Great Commission?

It’s a big question demanding a deeply personal response. Everyone will answer differently—but that’s a good thing! God has given each of us a unique role in His story, all for the sake of His name being made known to the nations.

Josh and Kurtis are the latest friends in our community to find their answer to this question. Let’s take a look at their story and what led them to it!

Josh and Kurtis forged their friendship in college, where they gained a heart for the nations and a passion for exercise. After graduating, they’d hoped to leave for the field in South Asia themselves, only to find the timing wasn’t right. Despite the change of plans, their passion for the unreached only grew. They wanted a way to support global work where they are today.

So they started 67 Reach: a weekly workout class that mobilizes locally to support globally.

We met this ambitious duo a few months back when they pitched us their idea. It was simple: Josh and Kurtis would invite their community to work out and pray for the nations every Saturday, no experience or registration fee necessary. Instead, attendees would be invited to give—not to Josh and Kurtis personally, but toward eliminating student debt for AIRO’s missionary partners!

Obviously, we were on board to make it happen.

I attended 67 Reach a few Saturdays ago to see Josh and Kurtis’ idea in action. A crowd of 20 people greeted me as we got ready for the class. Josh kicked it off with a reading of Psalm 67 and a light warm-up jog. “This isn’t too bad,” I thought to myself.

And then the real workout began.

Kurtis announced one exercise after another. Mountain climbers, sprints, burpees, leg lifts—he did each with minimal effort as the rest of us struggled along. After an hour of this, my confidence from earlier collapsed alongside my legs. Josh wrapped up the class with some cooldown stretches and gathered the group to pray for an unreached people group in East Asia, encouraging them to give toward helping send missionary partners to them.

This has happened every Saturday for the last 6 weeks. So far, Josh and Kurtis have fundraised $1,000 to eliminate student debt for our missionary partners! We could not be more encouraged by their creativity and faithfulness as senders!

Remember the question I mentioned earlier? 67 Reach is Josh and Kurtis’ answer! They wake up every Saturday to use their time, talents and treasures for the sake of Jesus being made known to the unreached—even taking it a step further by inviting their community to do the same! I asked the two of them why they do it. Here’s what they said:

“God has given us a joy for exercise and a desire and fervency to take part in his global mission. We’ve grown so much in our understanding of our place in the mission of the Church as partners and mobilizers in starting our class. Both of us wanted to be sent, but God’s plan in having us stay in our community has been so good.”

%firstName%, if you’re looking for your answer, I would love nothing more than to help you find it! God has fearfully and wonderfully made each of us, and it’s within our uniqueness that we find our role in His story.

Send me a reply to this email, share your ideas, or just say hello! I’m eager to hear from you.

30 minutes to pray for the unreached.

We gather each quarter to pray for our missionary partners and the unreached people they’re serving. Prayer is part of holding the rope for them as they work to make Jesus known in the darkest parts of the world.

We’ve got two calls coming up in just a few weeks! Pick the time that works best for you and join us to hear stories from our missionary partners as we lift up their prayer requests.

We send with great joy.

It’s our greatest privilege to help send missionary partners to the field and to keep them there long-term!
