Meet the Robinsons

Apr 25 2025

Introduction

One of our favorite things is watching our community come together. They know how to show up! And when they do, it’s in big ways.

This May, they’re gearing up to do it again, and we feel the momentum growing. Why? Because around here, May is for Missions!

That’s right. May is just a few days away, and we’re getting ready to help send another missionary partner to the field. Let us introduce you to them!

Kyle and Carolyn’s relationship with North Africa is special. Their time in the region led the two of them to one calling: go share the gospel with unreached people and work to plant a church among them.

We can’t do justice to the story behind their calling – so we asked the Robinsons to share it with you directly! Check out this quick interview with Kyle + Carolyn Robinson and see how God’s prepared them for the work ahead.

How did God lead you both to serve the unreached in North Africa?

The Father, the creator of the universe, has been in pursuit of our hearts since before we were born. We both grew up in homes where we were taught about the person of the Son. Our personal need for Good News became apparent to us during our teenage/college years, and through different journeys, we both realized that the Son was a real person sent by the Father to be sacrificed for our sin, so that we might live and delight in relationship with Him.

It was a years-long process that became more and more clear the lower we descended into reliance on the Father and grew in listening to His Helper. Both of us started with hearts that loved travel, new things, knowing people, and justice, and have ended up with hearts passionate for the coming Kingdom and skill sets acquired to serve it. In this, He has called us to go overseas!

What does a typical day in your mobilization process look like right now?

We just welcomed our first child, so our mobilization process looks a little different now! But generally, our days (and nights) look like planning support-raising appointments, working with our member care specialists, completing training requirements from our sending Fellowship, and dreaming about what’s ahead!

What have been some of the most encouraging things you’ve experienced while preparing to move overseas?

One of the most encouraging things we’ve experienced while preparing to move back overseas was AIRO saying “yes” to helping eliminate our student loan debt. This is HUGE – it allows us to be fully present in our country of service and put down roots there. Because of the generosity of The Go Fund, we are able to say “yes” to a longer commitment to serve without financial reservation. This allows us to really dig in and dream about how we as a family can serve – there’s no self imposed “limit” because we need to get back to the States and get our finances in order.

How can people be lifting you up as you prepare to go?

We are feeling a bit overwhelmed by what is required of us before we go – not necessarily the support-raising, but the closing of this season mingled with preparations for the next. We are adjusting to life with a newborn, transitioning into/out of jobs, and training. Please be praying for patience, endurance, and joy in this wild season of life!

A final thank you.

To those assuming our debt – thank you. Thank you for investing in the work of the Father in such a tangible way. Thank you for demonstrating for us what it is to step in and bear another’s burdens. As you do this for us, we can go to our country of service and bear the emotional and spiritual burdens of friends and neighbors. We hope that we can be to them what you are to us – generosity and humility embodied. Thank you!

May is for Missions

So you’ve heard Kyle + Carolyn’s story… now what?

May is for Missions is all about coming together to help get the Robinsons on the field and keep them there long term! We have one role to play: eliminate the barrier of their student debt and hold the rope for them while they’re there.

And the best part? There’s a role for everyone!

Here are three ways you can get involved this year:

  • Join us as an Ambassador | Whether you’re a Ropeholder, passionate about global missions, or someone who simply loves inviting others into what God’s doing among the unreached, we invite you to join us as an Ambassador! All you have to do is share the joy you have as a sender with your friends and family! (we’ll do all the heavy lifting for you 💪) We also have some fun swag to send your way!
  • Pray | Join us for 30 days of focused prayer by downloading our May is for Missions Prayer Guide! We’ll be lifting up missionary partners just like the Robinsons all month long + praying for the unreached people groups they’re serving among.
  • Give | Our goal this May is to raise $10,000. This isn’t a random number. $10k is how much we need to say yes to approving a missionary partner for student debt repayment. We keep them there long term through the faithful giving of our monthly donors. Help us hit our goal by making a special one-time gift or by joining our Ropeholder Community as a monthly donor!

Whatever role you choose to play, we’re grateful to have you on board with us! A story like Kyle and Carolyn’s is only made possible through your faithfulness – in prayer, giving and sharing the joy with those around you!

We send with great joy.

It’s our greatest privilege to help send missionary partners like Kyle + Carolyn to the field and to keep them there long-term! We don’t want you to miss out on it.
